Here at Farm in Progress we strive to grow our vegetables as naturally as possible. 

   We DO NOT use:

• GMOs

• chemical fertilizers

• chemical pesticides

We DO use Organic fertilizers and pesticides. We also use natural ways of dealing with unwanted weed and pests, such as:

• covering walk ways with cardboard or newspaper and hay

• tilling in the hay and paper at the beginning of the new season to build soil

• planting flowers that attract beneficial bugs such as Marigolds

• planting sunflowers on the edges of the garden to lure stink bugs away from vegetables

• using DE to kill flea beetles and ants

• making and using compost to enrich the soil 

• inviting the nieces and nephews over to collect potato beetles!
